Avalon es una grupo cristiano actual, procedente de Tennesse, Estados Unidos. Está formado por Janna Long, Greg Long, Jeremi Richardson y Amy Richardson. Sin embargo, ésta no es la formación original, ya que Michael Passons, Cherie Adams y Nikki Hassman tuvieron que abandonar el grupo a lo largo de los años y ser sustituídos por otros. Janna y Jody están desde el principio, no obstante, en 2008 también Jody dejará el grupo. Sus canciones comparten letras inspiradas en el cristianismo, con sonidos gospel, rock y electrónica, las melodías son en ocasiones lentas y en otras rítmicas. Sus canciones han conseguido entrar varias veces en los "top-10" de los chart norteamericanos. Han obtenido 3 nominaciones para los premios Grammy, todos en la categoría de "Mejor album pop gospel del año" en 2000, 2001 y 2004. También han obtenido 22 nominaciones en los GMA Dove Awards, de las cuales ganaron 6, así como 10 premios Miscellaneous Awards. Han vendido, tan sólo en EE.UU. 4 millones de discos.
