Dosel: parte alta de un bosque.

Si en ingles existe: dossal, canopy y la traducción al español la han realizado algunos como canopeo, castellanizando lo que en inglés se refiere a la parte superior del cultivo que sombrea la parte mas baja. Esto se puede leer entre fisiólogos o ecólogos de ciertos grupos científicos conocidos.

Por lo tanto dosel, no es solo la opción puesta en la versión española que coincidiría con baldaquín. Confío en que entre varios podamos enriquecer los diversos significados según a que se refiera.
